And for a second Naminé almost considers whether or not that memory is correct, because she's spent more time changing those kinds of things herself than watching friends actually manage to kill each other. But then the implications of the battle itself catch up with her a fraction of a second later, and she sucks in a breath which presses her mouth closed, chest tight with sympathy and a strange coldness of dread. ]

But it's hard for her to imagine any of them being legitimate; surely there's not other reason Lalli would want to kill his friend, not when he sounds so troubled by the whole situation. The message that comes thereafter puts any temporary fears to rest, however, though it does raise a lot of questions. Is it Lalli being too hard on himself, or is there really truth in that? ]

While she doesn't really believe that this would end their friendship, it's a bad place for both the boys to be in - though perhaps she has more faith in such relationships after having seen so many strong bonds in her life. (Nevermind that they always belonged to other people.) Whether it's her mess or not, she's in it now, and it's unconscionable to her to do anything but try to help however she can. So she points out, ]

[ Which. Isn't so much her telling him to do something about it as making a prediction, honestly. But that's not really a solution, so she tries, ]

Maybe it would help to think about what you'd say to him if the two of you did want to talk.
That way you can at least be sure how you feel.

It sounds like an insecurity talking, and yet at the same time Naminé knows all too well that without being more familiar with their relationship, she oughtn't really be assuming anything. But somehow it doesn't feel quite right to accept that fear as the reality of the situation, either.

[ Which could be taken a lot of different ways, really. Does that mean she doubts Emil would reject him so readily, or that Lalli would know better than she would what's likely? Both are true, honestly. But either way, ]

[ Which would be enough for her not to blame Lalli, at least, if she were in Emil's position - and that's what makes it so hard for her to imagine that he wouldn't want anything to do with Lalli at all even after such an incident. ]
